Meet Izy

owner, lead designer, flower farmer, & your #1 cheerleader

Welcome, I'm Izy (she/her). I'm so glad you're here!

I've been fully obsessed with all things flowers since starting Rocky in 2018, so much so that I finally left my corporate job to pursue this passion full time in 2023. What started as a flower growing hobby has turned into a full blown flower farming & floral design studio operation: basically, I think about flowers 24/7… not because I have to but because I get to.

As a not-so-traditional floral designer, I’m here to make your wildest, wackiest, most whimsical flower dreams possible. Because I often felt that planning my wedding was an uphill battle against tradition and outside opinions - and I want BETTER for you

  Frequently asked

questions

  • It’s really a matter of perspective!

Local flower farmers are known to be more experimental in what varieties they grow than importers; which means access to unique blooms you can’t get anywhere else. Plus, many high-demand flowers are ONLY available in the local market, because they can’t be shipped.

That said, if your heart is set on tropical flowers, crisp white roses, or baby’s breath, these simply aren’t available locally - so a different florist would be a better fit for you.

  • Not the way I operate!

Sustainability is foundational to Rocky Floral, from my regenerative pesticide-free flower farm to your event designs. All florals are composted after event break down, feeding back into the soil they came from. All vessels are cleaned and reused, and plastics are minimized at all opportunities.

In contrast to the imported flower industry, which is known to use dangerous levels of pesticides and packaging in single use use plastics, we keep our operation clean and as low as possible in trash production.

  • Absolutely! Being an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly florist is incredibly important to me. While the wedding industry can be overly heteronormative in language and representation, you can rest assured that you’re in a safe and respectful place when working with me.

You’re welcome just as you are here; because every love story is unique & deserving of a beautiful celebration.

  • In general, 8% - 20% of your overall budget will go towards wedding flowers (depending on your priorities). If you are seeking coverage across all aspects of your wedding (personals, ceremony, reception) this will likely be an investment of at least $8,000. My clients spend an average of $11,500 on Full Service floral design, though I offer alternate services to meet any budget.
